We Get Asked These A Lot

How do you end up on stage during the show?

Two ways. You can be cast as a lead contestant — buy a ticket, then apply through the casting portal on updatingshow.com/casting. Or just grab a ticket to the audience and you'll have a chance to shoot your shot at the end of the show. Those are some of the wilder moments, and everyone's welcome.

If I'm unsure about getting casted, what should I do?

Buy a ticket to lock in your seat. You can apply to be a contestant up until the week before the show if you're still deciding. And remember — you can always end up on stage starting from the audience anyway.

Do I have to participate if I come?

NO! We have huge audiences who come purely to sit back and watch the show. If you're in a couple, you'll get to realize the grass may not be greener on the other side. Only a handful of people actually end up on stage — most are just there to watch, laugh, and probably judge.

How long is the show?

The show runs about 90 minutes, followed by our After Hours party at a bar nearby where everyone at the live show is invited. Budget the full night.

What's the After Hours thing?

If you're single in the crowd, we send you a match at the end of the show to someone else in the crowd. No pressure — we want to set the expectations low here but you never know.
